Hard to push?

Found the reason for that...

This bent front axel and broken speedo drive won't help! I found replacements at the wreckers, we had to test 4 front axels before we found a good one, I think they must be made from metal colored cheese. The cracked speedo drive is supposed to be common on this model, and was the real reason it was hard to push, it was binding badly, it must crack from the heat generated when forced to turn with such resistance.

I looked into replacing the fairings, but it wasn't worthwhile, I just sanded out the grazes. I had to do a little plastic welding to reattach the broken corner (top right of pic) and strengthen some cracks. It turns out both side of the bike were badly grazed, but the right side the grazes were just painted straight over as seen below!

Still while all the fairings were off I replaced the axel and handlebar, it looks pretty badass as a naked with those lights. Maybe I should make it a fighter...

Project Hyosung

So a friend bought this "accidentally" on ebay, bid on the wrong bike or something like that apparently. Anyways, when she told me, we decided to go through with the sale, as it was still a bargain. $2200, 2007 model 250GT with 10,000km on it. Just needs indicators a handlebar and some paint I thought.

Didn't look too bad in the pictures... however by the time I picked it up from the depot (it was shipped from interstate) and got it in the ute, it was a sorry looking bike indeed.

Those scrapes looked far worse in person, still all the plastics were in one piece... a few cracks here and there, but those scrapes were deep. There is something wrong with the front end too, I know the handle bar is snapped off, but damn this thing was hard to push.
